i just returned home from the kingdom hall.
i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.
i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.
The issue you are facing is exactly the last straw that broke the camels back in my case.
My kids were 14 months and 2 1/2.. and they were expected to keep quiet and not fidget too.
I spent so much time in the bathroom with them that it was just unbelievable.
just sit in there with them and try to keep things quieter.
It was just so frustrating to spend all my time in a stinking bathroom.
..
There was one elder and wife who had a perfect little boy. His elder dad took him to the bathroom several times each hour and you could hear the slapping and whacking. Complete fear in that childs eyes. It used to send tremors up my spine everytime I saw him taking him out.
That was enough for me , because I wasn't going to slap my kids silly.
I started staying home from meetings..and stopped going all together very soon after that.
My husband and I hired a baby sitter and we attended the memorial that year. Very late night memorial.. Well, that went over like a lead balloon with the elders. Got counselled for that, too. ..
Haven't been back since...

p.s. Sounds like you might decide to step down completely from the elders position and sit in the bathroom with your kids more or else that is where your wife will wind up.. in the bathroom, frustrated with 3 kids.
Oh, and I remember one elder and his wife who used to ply their kids with candy for two hours straight..kept them quiet somewhat but man were they wired from all the sugar. They did move to the very back row for quite awhile.. Used to take the kids out for walks around the parking lot too, during the meetings. I didn't see anything wrong with that..sheesh you just can't expect kids to sit for 2 hours straight. That's hard enough to do for adults.
in our local sunday paper, there's a regular feature on how married couples met.
i've been touched by some of the stories.
i'm curious as to how you met your spouse.
At the kingdom Hall.

Nate.
I was DFed back during the 1975 era, and theit DFing me plunged me into a wordl of drugs, alcohol, depression, and suicide attempts. It took me over a decade of counseling to get over it.
I knew from the things you did that you must have been hurt by them really bad.
I'm sorry that your feet were knocked out from under you so hard and that being disfellowshipped spiralled you into such a negative time in your life. Sounds like you are lucky to be alive.
I hope, you have been able to heal yourself and that now you have been able to move on from the Jehovahs Witness religion.

President Bush looks at the national Thanksgiving turkey Marshmallow |
President Bush gave the national turkey, whose name is Marshmallow, and its alternate, Yam, the traditional Thanksgiving pardon in a ceremony at the White House.
The two turkeys will be flown to Disneyland in California to be part of the holiday display, and will also serve as honorary grand marshals for Disneyland's Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday.
They will spend the rest of their lives at a Disneyland ranch
i've been wondering what people think about this.
as soon as i turned 18 and had an income (it was disability but income just the same) my parents began to charge me room and board.
is this common practice?
Very interesting read this here thread is..
Hmm? What will I do with my kids.. charge rent or not.
While they are still in school or University I not sure I would feel right charging them rent.
I must think on this one.

The big discussion at tonights supper table was..
How long is 5.6 meters.. (about 15.5 feet)
and how much is 15 kg (about 35 lbs)
So If you had a King Cobra about a long as the dining room and 15-20 feet and weighed 35 lbs.
Yeah.. that's BIG.. A BIG, BAD snake.
Just like the one in Malaysia or somewhere like that .. where the village had to get a snake charmer only 21 years old to come and catch the dang thing. .. No one could catch it or they were scared to attempt it.
Yup they caught that Big Bad snake.

today on dr phil, the entire show revolved around 2 sisters and their half sister who grew up in an abusive home.
the older two girls were molested in addition to physical, verbal and emotional abuse by their step-father (their half-sister's biological father).
the youngest girl, now in her 20s, has a child of her own, whom she entrusts to the baby's grandfather - the same man who sexually abused her half sisters.
Your right.. Hollie was her name..
The issue that seemed to seem to upset her the most seemed more like abandoment issues of her sisters not being there for her over the past few years. she got really emotionally upset about that. She really seemed to drop in her physical age when she told them about that.. or maybe she is stuck at some levels of psyche. I found her expressions childlike at times. .. Just my observation.
